Located on the corner of Mountain Drive and Melvin Street in the heart of Destin, Florida, this brewery is the brainchild of beer lovers who decided to brew their own and market it. The tasting room has only been open since 2016; however, over the last few years Destin Brewery
has garnered local fame in a short period of time. The brewmaster focuses on a core set of beers, but like most breweries, visitors will still find a selection of seasonal and special-batch suds on the menu throughout the year.
This Florida brewery
is one of the only brewpubs on the southern side of the Choctawhatchee Bay and along the coastline in Okaloosa County. Thankfully, locals as well as travelers have a place to drink a craft beer when visiting the beautiful beachside community of Destin. The taproom is an excellent place to take the whole family, it not only presents outstanding beers, but there are also corn-hole games, a life-sized Jenga set and an open patio perfect for the kids.
Beers to Buy
As mentioned before, this Florida brewery
has a core set of beers which include the Destin Ale, Emerald Köast Kölsch, Red Sky Rye Pale Ale, East Pass IPA and the Bridge Rubble Double IPA. The Destin Ale is an easy-drinking Pilsner and the Emerald Kölsch is another session beer (ABV below 5%) perfect for long summer days. The Red Sky, East Pass IPA and Bridge Rubble DIPA all pack a heady punch with flavor profiles that exhibit a whole range of tastes—from American hops and piney citrus notes in the IPAs to malty, coffee and chocolate hints in the Red Sky Pale Ale. The seasonal beers vary accordingly, and the small batch selections which become known as Uncommon beers are some of the best in the entire region. Try the Tangelo Pale Ale made with real fruit and honey or the Chocolate Cherry Porter which tastes like a sudsy dessert in a pint glass. Nevertheless, the brewmaster always has something new to offer in the pilot batches the brewery offers. Some of the beer styles include a Cucumber-Basil Kölsch, an IPA made with fresh hops and Belgian yeast, and an extraordinarily bizarre Peanut Butter Cocoa Porter.
