It's the most romantic time of year along the Emerald Coast, and if you're planning to pop the question on Valentine's Day, here are five tried and true options.

-Begin or end your day with a bird's eye view of the Emerald Coast. Pop the question during a hot air balloon or helicopter ride over the sparkling green waters. It may be the only thing to rival the sparkling of her ring. -You'll both have a big fish story if you make your proposal on the Okaloosa Island Pier. You can tell your kids about the one that you didn't let off the hook.

-There are plenty of romantic restaurants as well along the Emerald Coast to use as your backdrop. You can certainly ask the staff to put the ring in a champagne glass, or, on a desert or decorated plate with "Will You Marry Me?" written on it.

-Send your sweetie on a treasure hunt, providing clues that bring her to your favorite spots. 'X' will mark the spot with a message in a bottle, written out on the sand or in seashells.

-Take advantage of the mild weather and spend the day golfing, snorkeling, or swimming. Put the ring in your picnic lunch, golf bag, or around the bottle of sunscreen.

-Pretend you're part of the A-list and charter a sunset cruise through the harbor. If you're staying at one of Five Star's luxury properties, you can enlist our concierge team to help design and manage the perfect proposal. Use our resources, connections, and creativity for a Valentine's Day neither of you will soon forget.
