Geocaching, a high tech scavenger hunt, utilizes GPS mapping systems and smartphone technology to send explorers on quests of varying degrees of difficulty. Using some preprogrammed websites, you can plug coordinates into your GPS system or smartphone. Follow the directions and soon "x" will mark the spot and you'll find some inexpensive, but fun treasures.

Like any other hobby, geocaching does have a few rules, so pay heed to the etiquette before you begin:

-If you take something from the cache, leave something in return.

-Be sure to write your story in the log book. Reading about other people's adventures is half the fun!

-Geocaches come in all shapes and sizes, so keep your eyes open.

-Return the cache exactly where you found it.
