With 54 national and international cities, towns, and beaches on the list, Destin is in exceptional company, and travelers are continuing to recognize it as a world-class family vacation destination. Trip Advisor's staff compiled the list from millions of peer reviews and searches, looking for feedback on the greatest increase of positive experiences. According to press materials, the list is designed to help inspire new adventures for 2014. "For travelers looking for inspiration for their 2014 travel planning, Trip Advisor travelers have helped us put a spotlight on some amazing destinations that caught the eye of travelers this past year," said Barbara Messing, Chief Marketing Officer for Trip Advisor. "Between large cities gathering steam, and off-the-beaten-path spots surfaced by our community, travelers can discover wonderful accommodations, attractions and restaurants in all of these award-winning destinations." Internationally, Havana, Cuba, La Fortuna de San Carlos, Costa Rica and Katmandu, Nepal were the top three choices. Destin grabbed the third spot, behind Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Anchorage, Alaska, and ahead of Bar Harbor, Maine, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
