Where To Celebrate Labor Day Along The Emerald Coast
FireworksWhile most visitors will take advantage of the beach this weekend, there are plenty of activities to help keep you busy and help you celebrate the end of summer with a bang- literally. Throughout the weekend, there a number of free concerts and fireworks displays to celebrate the unofficial end of the summer season. In Destin, HarborWalk Village refuses to believe summer is coming to an end, and kicks off its “Endless Summer Music Series” with a series of singer-songwriter focused free outdoor concerts all weekend long. On Sunday night, the weekend culminates with Fireworks over the Historic Destin Harbor. On Sunday, the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is also celebrating a great summer season and kicking off its fall concert series with the Lava Lamps, a funky 70’s tribute band. Be sure to pack a picnic and bring your chairs and blankets for Destin’s “must do activity”. The communities along 30-A are also celebrating Labor Day. Aly’s Beach, Rosemary Beach, and Watercolor are hosting free concerts on Saturday night. Watercolor is also hosting a free family carnival Sunday afternoon, complete with arts and crafts, face painting and plenty of food and drinks. Hopefully, everyone can get outside and celebrate the last weekend of the summer season.
