Rainy Day Activities in Destin and 30A

Don’t let the weather bring you down. Rain or shine, there are plenty of fun things to do in Destin and 30A no matter what the forecast is.

1. Fine Arts and Museums

Start your day with a trip to a nearby museum. You can experience everything that the Gulf of Mexico has to offer inside at the Destin History and Fishing Museum, or dig into the unknown at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not in Panama City Beach.

Continue your day of learning at Sundog Books in Seaside. This iconic bookstore is sure to dazzle any bookworm.

And for the artsier crowd, get fired up! Literally. Stop by Fired Up in Seaside for pottery painting and watercolor lessons. With prices starting at $14, this is the perfect place (and way) to create affordable souvenirs.

2. Retail Therapy and Summer Blockbusters

Relax and unwind in a comfortable chair at a cool movie theater. Catch a flick at the AMC Destin Commons, Boulevard 10 at Grand Boulevard or The Grand 16 at Pier Park in Panama City Beach.

When the movie is over, walk the popcorn off with a little window shopping. These shopping centers are packed full with everything you could need from clothing and electronics to home goods.

3. Games for the Whole Family

Bowling is another great option for family fun, and Destin has two awesome alleys to choose from. Hurricane Lanes is home to 26 lanes, a dozen pool tables and an arcade that will keep everyone entertained while Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill is an underwater themed adventure zone with aquarium.

Still feeling competitive? Take the family to one of our nearby arcades. Destin Laser Tag offers a 24-player arena and an indoor miniature golf course for the whole family to enjoy. And, right next door to it is Fat Daddy’s Arcade. This arcade has over 120 games that will satisfy both the young and the young at heart.

4. Good Food and Views

By now, you’ve worked up an appetite. Curb any craving at one of the area’s countless restaurants – many of which are home to kid-friendly activities and stellar views. This includes Margaritaville, Fudpucker’s and Lulu Buffet’s in Destin, and The Hub on 30A.

5. R&R at Home

When it’s all said and done, enjoy a little time on the home front. Our Destin and 30A vacation rentals are the perfect place to read a book, watch a movie and enjoy the beauty of a rainy day at the beach.
