The 6th Annual Wagon Parade, sponsored by AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar, kicks off the 2013 Destin Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, September 28th. This family-friendly event encourages families and youth groups to design, build, and decorate wagons and floats. Open to kids ages 12 and younger and their families, the Wagon parade is a much-loved Destin tradition. Judging begins at 1:00 p.m., and everyone entering will be recognized for their efforts. Additional prizes will be given to entries deemed "The Best Theme," "Most Creative," "WOW," and "Best In Show."
This year, there is also a category specifically for groups and organizations, like classes, scouting troops, sports teams, or church youth groups. After the judging, the entries will parade along the Destin Harbor Board Walk. Whether you are entering a wagon, or just want to cheer on the parade, the Wagon Parade is a great way to get into the spirit of the rodeo and spend some time celebrating the creativity and imagination of Destin's kids.
