McGuire’s Irish Pub & Wine Cellar Fall Wine Dinner October 27th 7pm Date 10/27/2011 Time 7:00 PM Event Description: Join us Thursday, October 27th for a delicious 6 course wine dinner prepared by Chef Tim Chyrek. Each course is paired with a tasty wine that has been hand chosen to enhance the dish and delight the taste buds. See below for the full menu. For Reservations call 850-654-7002. $65 a person plus tax and gratuity. 1st Course Apalachicola Oysters Pickled jalapeno, rhubarb granita, tobiko roe Deusa Nai Rias Baixas Albariño 2010 Lively fruit sensations awaken the taste buds with full flavor of mineral notes that mingle with a hint of grapefruit and mandarins. 88 pts ST 2nd Course Frisée Salad Fennel, roasted cashews, midnight moon cheese, blood orange vinaigrette Groth Sauvignon Blanc 2010 A dry, crisp, fruity young Sauvignon Blanc offering a sunburst of lemon, lime, and green grass flavors, with a touch of wild gooseberry and vanilla. 90 pts WE 3rd Course Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon Sautéed wild mountain arugula, Okinawa sweet potatoes, apple cider gastrique Casillero del Diablo Reserva Pinot Noir 2009 A medium body fruit-forward wine. Enjoy ripe red fruits with notes of strawberry, raspberry and subtle hints of spice and toasted French oak. 87 pts ST 4th Course Duck Duo Confit leg and sautéed breast with roasted carrots, eggplant, butternut squash, ricotta gnocchi, medjool date duck jus Trivento Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Cherry jam and red bell pepper aromas combine with chocolate and coffee notes from the 6 months aged in French oak making it a perfect match with duck. Decanter World Wine Awards Power List Producer. 5th Course Wild Boar Chops Smoked tomato confit, parmesan polenta, ancho bbq sauce Marqués de Cáceres Rioja 2007 Raspberry and edgy spice with a clean dry finish pairs perfectly with wild boar chops. 87 pts WE 6th Course Point Reyes Blue Cheese Soufflé Lemon thyme cream Bogle Phantom Red Blend 2007 A dry, full bodied red wine great with anything from grilled meats to cheeses.
