South Walton beach rentals can be in all fifteen of the area’s beaches. Known
as the communities that stretch along route 30A, South Walton’s beaches all

– some are directly on the beach, while others are farther inland in a separate

community focused on the arts, particularly theater. While Seaside was one of the
filming locations for 1997 film The Truman Show and has many buildings
designed with New Urbanism architecture by Robert Davis, the beach is known for
the Seaside Repertory Theater. With a strong, notable cast and many performances
per year, the Seaside Repertory Theater has become one of Northwest Florida’s
premier theater companies. For a arts beach community leaning toward music, Grayton
is the location of the Red Bar, a live jazz music venue that serves food. In addition,
Grayton has the distinction of being the first beach community in South Walton and
the location of Grayton Beach State Park.
A few of South Walton’s beaches are centered around dune lakes. Watercolor,
the newest community for beach rentals in South Walton, has become a coastal resort
and a residential community that has grown in between the Gulf of Mexico and a 220-acre
dune lake. Dune Allen, a beach located south of the Emerald Coast Parkway, is a
community that has grown about two of the area’s seventeen dune lakes. Dune
Allen’s residential and vacation rentals are between Stallworth Lake and Oyster
Lake and, for nature lovers, this location near two dune lakes has many rare species
of wildlife communities by the dune lakes. Aside from the lakes, another beach community
known for its nature is Blue Mountain, the highest point in South Walton with a
height of 345 feet above sea level. Blue Mountain has sand dunes covered in vegetation
which includes dune scrubs with blue leaves and flowers. For hiking, the Timpoochee
Trail goes along 30A for vacationers to explore the unique vegetation of the beach.
Beach rentals in South Walton, however, will probably be in the areas largest vacation
communities, particularly Santa Rosa and Sandestin. Santa Rosa is, in fact, several
beach vacation communities grouped together by the beach and has been the location
for the Seabreeze Jazz Festival. Aside from the sands and water of the Emerald Coast,
Santa Rosa has Point Washington, the location of Wesley Mansion, which has the largest
collection of Louis XVI antiques. In addition, another Santa Rosa community, Topsail
Hill, has remained untouched since the first European settlers. Sandestin, on the
other hand, hosts championship golf courses and is home to the Sandestin Resort,
which is known for its luxurious spa and seven miles of sand.
Rounding out the fifteen communities in South Walton for vacation rentals are Miramar
and Seascape, two communities known especially for beach rentals in South Walton.
Miramar’s vacation rentals and residential homes are known to have a panoramic
view of the Gulf of Mexico, as the vacation rentals community stretches from the
Gulf and goes up to Gulf Drive. In addition, Miramar’s largest attraction
is its shopping, with the largest outlet center, Silver Sands Factory Stores, located
in town. Similar, Seascape is a community in South Walton entirely of beach rentals,

As the Emerald Coast, with its white sands and emerald-tinted waters, has become
one of Florida’s premier vacation destinations, with resorts, a plethora of
