The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will take full advantage of the organization's new home on October 26-27th, when the 18th Annual Festival of the Arts moves to the Village Green. More than 100 artists and artisans will be on hand for this two-day celebration of the visual arts. Recognized as one of the Southeast's premier arts shows, the Festival of the Arts highlights the work of both national and regional artists. There's art for every budget and style, with artists working in the media of acrylic, clay, collage, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, mosaic, oil, pen and ink, photography, digital art, pastel, pottery, sculpture, fiber, textile, wood and watercolor. Artists will compete for $9,000 in cash prizes and attendees can vote on the annual People's Choice Awards. With a new location, The Festival can offer plenty of entertainment, including live music on the Festival Stage throughout the festival. Area restaurants are offering tasty treats, and there will also be a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. This a family-friendly event and also features two dedicated areas for kids creativity: the Kid's Stop Art Center, sponsored by Silver Sands Premium Factory Outlets, and The Skimboard and Skateboard Workshop, sponsored by Meyer Board Company. Beautiful art in a beautiful setting"”just another reason why the Emerald Coast is a great place to be in October.
