You don't have to travel to "The Big Easy" to get your fill of beads, king cakes, and moon pies; there are some great Mardi Gras celebrations right here at home. So when you're ready to Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler, you and your family can head to these family friendly activities. -The Eighth Annual Seaside Mardi Gras parade kicks off at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 22nd in front of Seaside Kids. The festivities begin at 12:00, when kids and families can stop by the store for mask making and other carnival inspired crafts. The parade begins at 2:00 and features 2nd line music from the Village Brass Band. The party continues at the Lyceum with entertainment provided by the Flow Tribe. -With music provided by Jones and Company, gumbo from the Groovy Grouper, and red beans and rice from AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar, Destin Commons 5th Annual Mardi Gras Masquerade on February 28th is sure to be a hit. Abrakadoodle will be on handle for face painting and Mardi Gras crafts. The parade begins at 8:00 and ends with a fireworks display. -The 6th Annual Mardi Gras on The Harbor-Pardi in Paradise is scheduled for March 1 in HarborWalk Village.You can let the good times roll during this family friendly event, where parade entrants will march, float, roll, pedal, and push their way through the Destin Harbor. In addition to the parade, there will be costumes, food and drink specials, and entertainment. Don't forget a bag or basket to collect all your beads.
