It's not too early to start thinking about your plans for the 30A Songwriters Festival January 17-19 along scenic 30A. For the past five years, the 30A Songwriters Festival has made a name for itself as the place for thoughtful and insightful singer songwriters to debut new material, perform old favorites, and celebrate the very best of folk, country, rock, and blues music. The 30A Songwriters festival showcases local and regional favorites and has featured some of the best A-list entertainment around. Past performers have included The Bangles, John Oats, Matthew Sweet, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Suzanne Vega. This year, national recording artists Richard Thompson, Ani DiFranco, Kristian Bush from Sugarland, Shawn Mullins, and Loudon Wainwright III are scheduled perform. During the three day event, more than 150 singers-songwriters will perform in 25 venues along 30A. You can catch more than 200 performances stretching from Seaside to Alys Beach, and everywhere in between. Tickets for the weekend are available now, online, at Central Square Records in Seaside, and The Bayou Arts Center in Santa Rosa Beach. The 30A Songwriters Festival is a fundraisers for the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), the local arts advocacy and education organization. Five Star Gulf Rentals has plenty of housing options along 30A. If you're planning to check all the great live music during the festival, explore some of the great properties available near the concert venues in Grayton Beach, Rosemary Beach, Dune Allen, and Seaside.
