It’s that time again! Destin’s History & Fishing Museum is kicking off it’s Annual Gumbo Contest and Silent Auction Fundraiser at the Destin Community Center Saturday, January 21. Local restaurants and individuals gather to compete for the coveted title (and bragging rights) for the Best Gumbo on the Panhandle. The event keeps things musical with live, local band Dread Clampitt and action packed (albeit, quiet) with a silent auction. The silent auction consists of fifty packages ranging from artwork, jewelry, boat and fishing trips and much more. Come out on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Destin Community Center from 11am-3pm to join our community in sampling gumbo entries and to cast your vote for People’s Choice Award.
