By all accounts, this year's Destin Fishing Rodeo was the most successful one in years. Between the re-opening of red snapper season, the fantastic weather, and the record number of fall visitors, the Fishing Rodeo and the docks behind AJ's has been the place to see and be seen all month long. While The Destin Fishing Rodeo officially ended on October 31, the City of Destin will host the "unofficial" wrap up on Saturday, with the 15th Annual Kids' Pinfish Tournament . Kids 14 and under can try their hand along the docks behind AJ's during this annual event. Beginning at 8:30, the tournament gives kids of all ages an opportunity to get out and fish. Awards will be given, in a number of age groups, for the biggest pinfish caught, the smallest pinfish caught, and most pinfish caught. While the event is free, participants are encouraged to bring their own poles, and the city provides plenty of bait. The first 50 kids registered receive a T-shirt. The Annual pinfish Tournament is a great, family friendly event, and a fantastic way to get kids "hooked" on fishing.
