While our friends and family up North are bracing for yet another round of snow and cold weather, we are starting to see signs of spring here in Northwest Florida. One sure sign of warmer weather is the Annual Camellia Festival held at Eden Gardens State Park. Hosted by the Friends of Eden Gardens, the Camellia Festival gives locals and visitors an opportunity to explore the park's 124 acres and enjoy beautiful Camellia's in full bloom. The Annual Camellia Festival is free, although donations will be graciously accepted, refreshments will be available, and live entertainment will be provided by Lovely Mud. Eden Garden State Park boasts 124 acres of beautiful parkland. The centerpiece of the park is the majestic Wesley House, a plantation style home complete with a wrap-around porch, white columns, and stately Oak trees. Wesley House and the park are popular spots for wedding receptions, special events, and family photos. Guided tours of the house and the grounds are offered Thursdays-Mondays, from 8:00 am to sunset. The non-profit organization, Friends of Eden Gardens State Park is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the property's beautiful gardens and landscaping. This cadre of dedicated gardeners and master gardeners tend to the park's 10.5 acres of public gardens. Located just North of Seagrove Beach in Point Washington, Eden Garden State Park is a nice, relaxing alternative to the beach and the sand, and the Camellia Festival is a great introduction to this beautiful space.
